As a child, I would always say that I either wanted to be a “star”... or a cartoonist! I have always drawn and have been painting since high school. Over the past few years, I have begun to meld my two loves by creating visual art based on music subjects. I have painted and drawn the operatic characters of Carmen and Madame Butterfly, and I have also created a series of paintings based on Argento’s Pulitzer Prize winning song cycle, “From the Diary of Virginia Woolf.” A proponent of Julia Cameron’s work “The Artist’s Way” as well as her other creativity-inducing works, I try (emphasis on the word “try”) to create art that is truthful to my heart, be it music or visual. For that is how we find inspiration... the most difficult artistic tool to harness.

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” - Picasso
